Matterson "Matt" E. Dorsey, CIC's Profile and Contact Information

Matt was born and raised in Valdosta, graduating from Valdosta High School (VHS) in 1999 and then Valdosta State University (VSU) in 2003. He began working at Valdosta Insurance Services in 2000 while still in college. Matt is a licensed insurance agent in the state of Georgia and currently holds The Certified Insurance Counselor designation (CIC).  He served on the Young Agents Committee (YAC) of the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia (IIAG) for over 10 years in various roles and currently serves on the Governmental Affairs Committee.  He is a member of the Azalea City Civic Club.   Matt is a 2010 graduate of Leadership Lowndes and served as a Trustee on their board.  He served on the board of the Wesley Foundation at VSU.  Matt is on the board of the V-State Club at VSU and also a board member of the Valdosta City Schools Foundation.

Matt is married to Heather Hiers Dorsey, an art teacher at S.L. Mason Elementary School, and they are active members of Park Avenue United Methodist Church, where Matt serves on several committees.  He and Heather have two children, a son Jake, and a daughter, Addyson.  He enjoys spending time with his family and playing tennis as well as supporting Valdosta State athletics.
